Life as a Legend: Marilyn Monroe


If you are near or traveling to Jacksonville, Florida; you won't want to miss this exhbit.

A Jacksonville art museum is honoring one of the world’s most famous women of the 20th century with its new exhibit, “Life as a Legend: Marilyn Monroe.”

The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville opened its Marilyn Monroe traveling art exhibit at the museum today. It displays more than 286 photographs, prints, paintings and sculptures by more than 80 artists documenting the life of the woman who personified Hollywood glamour.

According to the museum, the exhibit of this immortal legend “captures the spark, sex appeal and sensation of Marilyn Monroe through the art of Andy Warhol, Allen Jones, Peter Blake, Richard Avedon, Bert Stern, Henri Cartier-Bresson and many others.”

“Life as a Legend: Marilyn Monroe” will remain open through April 4, 2010.
